2009 Recap

Film Fest: The film fest held on Monday, September 28 had modest attendance.  The attendees present were not all PLG affiliated, however, or even all connected to SIRLS.  Modifications will be made for future years, as undergraduates were the target audience for this screening, and did not attend in significant numbers.

The support IT staff at the Gallagher Theater were very helpful.  When quirks prevented us from connecting our laptop to the wireless network the gentleman assisting us provivded one from their stock.

Panel Discussion: This event was well attended, and interactive.  The ReadOut! portion was embraced by several members of the audience.  There were technical difficulties with the documentary, which we'll avoid for next year.  The presenters were all dynamic and well received.  Audience members were largely affiliated with SIRLS, but we also gained attendess by drawing in students studying in the library.

Was at the WSIP (Writing Skills Improvement Program) building the other day, and they have an impressive library with (I'm pretty sure) about 90% of the banned books ever written. They have a strict no loan policy, but I think if someone like Leslie or a librarian were to approach them, they might be amenable to making an exception for our BBW exhibit/project.

Any movies suggestions for the film fest during BBW?

Does anyone know how many people attended the film fest last year?
