Networking Lunch
The conference will be on June 4, 2010 -- The networking lunch will be from 12:30pm - 2:00pm
Final decisions on networking lunch activities:
- We will have everyone come in and sit down.
- There will be different color pieces of paper under each individuals plates.
- Centerpiece will be the destination color.
- Each person must sit on the table with the same color as their papers.
- Each table will have a set of key questions provided.

-
Reserve librarian's lounge on 5th floor of Main Library--(Danielle)--reserve room from 12:00pm-2:30pm
-
Call Baggins to get estimate (At Symposium: $7 per person--sandwich, cookie, chips-- we need to buy drinks) --Delivers
-
Call Beyond Bread>>will they deliver, what is the price?-- (Kristen)
- networking activities/large scale icebreaker:
- Example from Danielle (used with African American student group) assign seats so that people have to sit down and eat and talk with new people
- people from the organizing committee walked from table to table and engaged in conversation
- At a medical library conference each table was given a topic to discuss. Each person was assigned a table according to the topic they chose when they registered for the conference. Each table had a facilitator to keep the conversation going. -- Azul
- Using topics people are interested in as a way to assign table groups could work really well. Is it too late to add these "lunch topics" to the registration process? Could we ask people to indicate topics of interest when they check-in at the conference? -- Kristen
- I am not sure if it is too late to add to the registration process but requesting this information in the check-in process seems fine. Although earlier may be better so we could tell them at the check-in which topic/table they will be sitting at. Perhaps when they provide their food request if they have not done so already? We should request that they provide at least their first and second choice of topics in case the first gets filled up. -- Azul
